Earleybird Pre-School was established in 1987 and based in a mobile classroom within the grounds of Hawkedon School, Lower Earley, though the pre-school is privately run. Approximately 4 years ago Earleybird Pre-School and Hawkedon Primary School joined together to form the first Foundation Partnership in Wokingham.  

Upon launching this appeal, our building had almost reached the end of its lifespan both legally (to provide a safe for young children) and physically and we had a constant battle to maintain it to Ofsted standards. We gained planning permission for a new building and managed to secured partial funding for this from the local Council. However, this money had a deadline and so we URGENTLY needed to raise the final £100,000 to complete our move.  With this in mind we launched ‘The Earleybird Appeal’ to ask for your help to raise the funds for the building we so desperately need, which will benefit both the local community and future generations.

We are now at the stage where our building work has been completed to take the partnership to the final stage of a shared building which will accommodate 3 to 5 year olds at Earleybird Pre-School and Hawkedon School. Whilst we have successfully, with your help, raised the funds for the building, we still need to fundraise in order to fully equip inside the building, and the garden area of the Unit.  Please take a look at the blog of the building works, photos of our events and details of coming events to help us raise the remainder of our funds.  Thank you.
